   Happened to me also.Windows blocks the game folder files.
   Check your notifications or else settings>privacy and security>windows security>virus and threat protection>Choose protection history(its the 3rd choise under quick scan> to the right of the protected folder access blocked there will write Low and next to it there is a arrow to click and it will give you the option to let it access it.

   Or else if you have notification on and you press on it it will get you straight there.
   i have foud this issue in many games and it mainly block the access to the documents thererefore to your saves

     windows does the same thing, so who cares if a gigantic corporation like Microsoft spies on you directly or using Hypervisor to get your data… Windows stocks fell of a cliff, think about it.

    Make a map where you store your game roms, set the emulator location to it and play. (you may have to play with controls a bit for keyboard, but you can also use switch pro controlet to play)

    You can also run it on your phone with apk version of emulators. (may cause issues if your phones are on less than 10 android and you will have to look for older versions)
