Thumper is rhythm violence: classic rhythm-action, blistering speed, and brutal physicality. You are a space beetle. Brave the hellish void and confront a maniacal giant head from the future.
If you are experiencing audio stutter and clicking noises, go to your computer’s audio configuration and lower the audio sampling rate to 24bit (or 16bit) 96000 Hz or lower. THUMPER doesn’t support 192000hz sampling rate.
Guys I found a way how to fix the Crash (Well for me)
And this might only work for people who has Intel Graphics
1- Open your Intel HD Graphics Control Panel (or whatever Graphics Control Panel you have)
2- Go to 3D
3- The settings on Multi-Sample Anti-Aliasing Should be on “Use The Application Settings” (the default was Turn Off”)
There is a new version of the game out (Released October 18th)… It fixes from audio bugs and adds a few new features… Could you please update the version on this site? Thanks!
Yes, same thing here. Thumper.exe’s process dies after a few seconds after it makes the “profile” folder the first time, and then keeps dying without doing anything.
Couldn’t get this to work on Windows 7 or 10, same issue as everyone else. I have an AMD gpu. A newer version with some fixes was released, I’m curious if updating the release might fix it.
Figured it out. Each build of the game “expires” after a while and refuses to run. Set your computer date to mid-October 2016 and this version should stop exiting after starting up. Alternatively, you might also be able to use a hex editor on the file cache/a2fc2051.pc and change the fifth to last through second to last bytes to a more recent unix timestamp (dont forget little endianness).
Same issue – crashes instantly. Shows up in task manager for a second then closes. Tried running from .rar, running as admin, changing compatibility settings and multisampling tweak.
can confirm deleting the entire Thumper folder, changing computer date to October 16, 2016, then unzipping Thumper and running the game works, computer date has to stay around mid-October like Asdfasdf said.
Fix:
1. Copy your save data from folder: Thumper\savedata.
2. Redownload and extract the game.
3. Change your computer’s date to October 21, 2016.
4. Launch the game to create a new save file and then exit.
5. Paste your save file back to the game’s folder.
Enjoy!
Changing the unix timestamp in file a2fc2051.pc with a hex editor does not work. Changing OS date to mid october or running with a program like ‘RunAsDate’ works for me.

DO NOT UNZIP IT! play it directly from zip file.
I unzipped file and game insta crashed when I tried to open it. after that I tried to open it directly from zip file an it works like charm.

Also crashes instantly. Playing from zip file does not work, have updated using DirectX .exes in redist folder, still crashes.
thumper.exe spawns for a few seconds then dies.

Thanks to “Aasdfasdf” solution I figured out a way to run it.
Use a program that can run an app on a specified date like RunAsDate:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/run_as_date.html
Launch Thumper via that app and viola no more crashes.
Enjoy! and please support the developers if you eventually have the money and chance to buy it.
