You’re talking as if it wasn’t an intentional choice to have the players look that way. Baseball games have existed almost as long as video games have, and the history of chibi baseball games coming out of Japan is as long as that. That is to say, it’s not at all unusual to see such cartoonish Baseball games.
You do realize that EA is the only company that has the rights to the simulation of MLB games right? So any developer that wants to make an MLB game has to make it very arcade-like. Laws prevent them from making the game look to life-like or simulated.
to be fair, it’s not MLB. But ANY simulated baseball game, football game, basketball game, hockey game only EA has the right to do them unless given express permission. It’s really fucking dumb.

Awesome. I used to play the Baseball Simulator games on SNES when I was younger, this has a similar feel to it. Nostalgia, haha.
