These Loathing games are comedic. I remember the old days of Kingdom of Loathing (main was Pastamancer), back when I was constantly monitored in school for playing games, and that was the only game that could fly past these raptor teachers because it was mainly text. I read a decent amount of books and watch some older movies growing up but trust me you will constantly be surprised by the amount of obscure to mainstream references in this game. If this game looks shit to you, then you are too young to know what a book made of paper is. You missed the 2000s emo phase, you missed the birth of memes, and you don’t understand how better graphics does not mean better gameplay or even more immersion.
West of Loathing was a great addition and I gotta say, some of the BEST* walking animations gamers have designed.
