This looks like a rip-off of Returnal. More or less the same game apart from this as really weak graphics.
Returnal is nothing like this, returnal is a bullet hell roguelike. i’d say this is more like dead space with a female protagonist. It’s not illegal for games to be similar, shit elden ring is a rip off of dark souls by that logic.

It was just an example of a game being the same genre but being different. My point was that returnal isn’t even the same genre of game as scars above, but even if it was it’s a solid game in its own right, as elden ring is to dark souls.
What matters is if the game is fun, graphics will ALWAYS be secondary.
I’ve played some copycat games before which played better than the game they copied despite having worse graphics and a much lower development budget.
So the “overhyped, underwhelming game that everyone’s going to start copying” is Re-turd-nal this time around.
Oh well, at least it’s not another deck builder.

Cutscenes Not Playing
At current, my cutscenes aren’t playing. The game runs beautifully but my cutscenes will not play at all. I tried every combination of graphics settings and the game itself runs beautifully on ultra for me. Updated and restarted windows, updated my drivers, still nothing.
Any possible suggestions/ideas for fixing this?
for those of u whining about this being a returnal knock off, no its far from that. 1st off its powered by unreal engine…and 2nd it has more of a mass effect andromeda playstyle to it if anything

For those with white screen issue on main menu, it’s caused by a missing codec. This is what I did to get around it:
The file below is what causes the problem:
(install path)\Scars Above\ScarsAbove\Content\Movies\Sources\UI\MainMenu_Start.mp4
Replace the above file with this file:
(install path)\Scars Above\ScarsAbove\Content\Movies\UE4_Logo.mp4
Now you’ll have the Unreal Engine logo as your main menu, but it will load fine, haha.
If you’re still having issues, you may have to replace more of the “MainMenu_**.mp4” files. I only needed to replace one to get mine working.
