For anyone saying how shit it is without VR is an idiot who probably works for the devs who made this game.
It is completely playable from start to finish and it is awesome.
Some things are difficult I admit, especially aiming as there is no way to do it without vr and there is no crosshairs either, everything else plays like it supposed to.
Definatelly worth the download and the play.
Wrong! I have an Oculus and I very much enjoyed this game in VR. Graphics are Epic, game play is great, the ending was disappointing! <– now would a dev ever say this shit?! I recommend you getting an Oculus 2. Though the VR version does require a more powerful PC to play in VR without lag spikes.
There is a crosshair, but very small, but it works fine.
Crosshairs (even upgrades) are meant for VR. You use either the iron sights of the weapon or the upgraded sights, but you’e expected to use them all through the VR visor
If properly shouwn in non-VR mode, you’ll probably have to rush lasersight upgrades in order to help targeting. At least you should get the red laser targeting line to know where the bullets will expectedly land.
My monitor has a crosshair feature. Just turn monitor crosshair on and boom. You got something to aim through.

in accessibility in the options on the games main screen u can select link controls to single controller do that and game will reboot or crash, but when u restart the controller now works instead of keyboard and mouse any probs let me know…

Even the gun looks unreal tournament ’99 stiff, heck Half-Life 1 at least had some sort of weapon movement. But yeat this looks terrible if I’m to be brutally honest.

From watching the GAMEPLAY video I get that old school half life playable character feel with the modern day game look, That is super amazing 🙂
When time the time comes I will buy myself a solid VR device.
For now I wont spoil this gaming experience without VR.
For Simulations people say G2 Reverb, then they say the sweetspot sucks, then there is this and that device this and that drawback.

just wait for the quest 3 that comes out later this year, it will be at around 500bux and will be a great wireless experience that u can hook wireless to pc for PCVR titles like hl ALYX, or get the quest 2 now for 400 and do the same thing, vr is pretty cheap you dont need to get the biggest VR headset these sim people tell you about. just get the easiest to setup and that is the quest 2 for now and the quest 3 in the future, plus all the native vr and PCVR games are pirateable (check questpiracy reddit for details)

But is working from the main exe, but in game you can`t jump properly, can`t exit the main menu with “M” key and can`t answer the ringing phone with “E” key.
Thus the game is unplayable

So many idiots in this forum, as usual. If you do not have VR and you will not get it or you do not mind playing it now and later on, once you have a headsett just play it. But obviosly the game do not look how it should and worst is the way you actually move around etc, with no headset it is a lot worse, but you can at least play it. Good stuff they did it.
Most of ppl in this forums have a powerfull PC, therefore just with a headset you can have VR, second hand you can get some headsets (not the best obviously) for 50/100 € at least here in Spain. So who says it is so expensive? Just inform yourself better before 🙂

Game is really good and can be played really smooth with old pc rx 580 8gb i5 3570 procesor ddr 3 16gb ram all on ultra except shadows i always put them on high in any game . Just one question if anyone know how to get in game menu inside gameplay i press p pause but no menu ??? i must get out of game on m to get to menu but some options are not available in main menu :(( and how to change FOV ???? i found fix for windowed flickering start menu is flickering inside game so to fix it i found solution how to get game working on Fullscreen it is in game folder ” Half-Life Alyx VR\game\hlvr\cfg ” inside find video file open and change fullscreen from 0 to 1 that is that so anyone want to change some options it is here but there is no option for FOV :(((
In options when game starts go to Accessibility and click link controls to one controller, you can then use an Xbox controller or any other compatible controller, so you don’t have to use the keyboard and mouse.
Or a controller just click link game to one controller in the options/accessibility menu from main game load screen. the game will crash when u apply but when u reboot the game it will be full controller support.

the game need to be fixed to be 100% playable on keyboard and mouse as there is no control for them , i can not pick my gun back from the upgrade machine, also when you click V your player will move super fast and go through the walls.
