update installer is gonna murder your save files probably, its asking to change your user name…?

I tried downloading the update in a random folder and then just dragged the content on my game files. It made the game crash at start. So I simply downloaded the update on my game folder and it fixed it.
After I update the game, I loaded from my last save, it works without problems, but still cant do the online quests.
Saved file got corrupted. any help?
If you have back up save file then copy it to this location C:\Users\*Username*\AppData\Local\GBFR.
If you dont, then you are fucked.
The game files were corrupted when loading a backed up save.
For who experience corrupted save file after the update find below the solution, i had the same issue and i was able to recover my save file in this way:
You need to backup your save that is located in “C:\Users\(your name)\AppData\Local\GBFR\Saved\SaveGames”.
1.The savefile you should backup is “SaveData1.dat”, backup the savefile and delete all the existing SaveData files in the directory
2.Then update the game and start new game to make a new savefile that will make a new “SaveData1.dat”.
3.Now install notepad++ and install the plugin to view it in hex.
4.Open your backup savefile and the new savefile with notepad++.
5.Go to your new savefile and copy the first line from 00 to 07.
6.Go to your backup savefile and paste it in the first line from 00 to 07.
7.Save the files and replace the new savefile with your backup savefile.
8.Now open the game and see if it works.
