Even tho not every game was good Devs couldn’t afford to Lie and scam People so They made games playable on Most PCs. Today Elitism runs rampant and Corporations are allowed to do whatever they want.
These graphics weren’t bad for the time, but they were not great either.
If the game was good it didn’t matter, its a different mindset.
I Still Love Soul Reaver/Blood omen Legacy of Kain games. But Graphics on almost all of them are Garbage.
And it doesn’t matter for the Best Fantasy Saga Series ever created.
The single player of this and NWN 1 is the worst part of the game. User created content with a dungeon master controlling everything and speaking/typing for the npcs makes these games what they are. As single player experiences they are lackluster. I thought they were shit, but I spent a huge amount of time building adventures and dungeon mastering for groups of 5-6 people to play through my adventures. Clunky graphics and all, the gameplay and experiences were so good. Nothing in modern times compares to this. We need these rebuilt inside a modern engine, but it will never happen. Too niche.
I agree only for the part of the rebuild inside a modern engine, i played all NWN/NWN 2 in the clunky version at times but if you love the genre is a fucking masterpiece. But if you’re just a millenial, you will judge the game only in his 10% of the aspect, because noone of your age felt the golden age of RPG’s.
So i started to play this game, chose to play as a priest. Holy cow! Very powerful skills, i have never seen priests being so strong elsewhere.
Nice musics and storylines as well. bad graphics but bearable.
But modern people like story-creating games not story-telling games. Part of reason probably we are having lower IQs ^__^
This was the first RPG I ever played on PC when it first came out and it got me into loving RPG’s. Great game
