there does appear to be some codec wonkyness going on, people have reported uninstalling k-lite, uninstalling cccp, or installing VLC

For those having any issues, check for 3rd party programs and plugins. Like what happened in the past with rpg maker, some programs interrupt/cuck the game from playing smootly. All this one asks is to have proper graphic drivers(up to date), not install a lot of auido modifiers than the usual realtek plugins(and vlc if possible) and the usual runtimers. K-Lite Codec Pack has been having issues with games for quite a while already(had with some in the past other than this, so wiped it long ago) and it’s actually the worst choice as the plugins/drivers interfer with other hidden stuff/programs. Basically, the program to run more audio files/video types ain’t worth when there are better stuff around that doesn’t run constantly and not cuck other programs. Peace out.

A: you must copy crack files from /Crack located inside ISO, to your game folder (where you installed), accepte replace files.
there is no crack files in my installed game folder. I had try paste the crack files from iso to installed game file, it still bring me to steam. Any idea?

ok i found exactly what is needed to fix the freeze\crash on cutscene IF you have k-lite installed. you DO NOT have to uninstall it. simply open the tweak tool for klite(C:\Program Files (x86)\K-Lite Codec Pack\Tools\CodecTweakTool.exe) and change 1 setting
Under Codec and Filter Management, goto “Preferred Splitters”, then change the 64-bit .MP4 to “Use Merit”. apply and close. play.

guys for those who have problems with the game after the prologo goes to the game folder C:\Digimon Survive\DigimonSurvive_Data\Plugins\x86_64 remove file “AVPROVideo.dll” then open the game and game will work again

I uninstalled K Lite and it doesn’t freeze anymore, but the game still crash like every 10-15 mins.
Game crashes in cinematics (not only first one) so best option for me it’s skip this cinematics and it works perfect from there.
You only need to change name to file AVProVideo.dll located in path DigimonSurvive_Data/Plugins/x86_64.
For those who open Steam, make sure you copy content from the crack directory before launch the game.
downloaded and played for a few hours, and sorry but for me is BORING as hell, VN is nothing new for me, i’ve devour a lot of them (hell, KiraKira and Deardrops are among my top 10 favorite games ever), but this…. dunno, just doesn’t have any visual appeal nor aesthetic for me, characters looks like doesn’t fit more than half of the time with the environment, there’s a real lack of any kind of effort in trying to make them feel alive, like, their expressions are bland all the time, battle scenarios are really dull and unnapealing for me, but what made me to ALT+F4 the sh*t out of it was the FOURTH forced tutorial battle to explain more STUPID bullshit like “OH LOOK IF YOU PRESS ATTACK, YOU ATTACK”. I MEAN, it’s okay to have tutorials, of course, i know they are explaining core mechanics for hard battles to come, but damn it, MAKE IT IN A FREAKING BETTER AND ENYOJABLE WAY.
maybe other day i’ll give it another chance if in a few days there are good reviews about the whole story and if it is really worth the initial pain, coz for me, this couple of hours has been just that, pain. AND THAT’S A SHAME.

Cant imagine a game that talked more than cyber sleuth well here you go. 90% visual novel and 10% actual fucking battles. it takes an hour before you can even progress the story. i just about died of fucking boredom by the time i got to an actual battle and it was still a fucking tutorial. this game is shit. i feel bad for even pirating it! im glad i didnt pay the horrible fucking 60 dollar price tag. JESUS, fucking asians who would rather read than play actual fucking games. fuck this shit. dont even download it.

70% visual novel and 30% actual gameplay, could be great if they just forget the visual novel(that is not very good btw) and focused on the actual game

To anyone having prologue video crashes, yes, K-Lite is the problem. No, you don’t have to go look for another codec pack.
Uninstall your current version of K-Lite and grab the latest version, and when installing it make sure to check the box that says “Install codecs only for MPC-HC”. The codecs will only be loaded when running that specific media player, and it won’t crash games anymore by trying to force in-game video files to use its codecs.
No need to uninstall anything all you need to do is this:
