The game keeps crashing. After the intro, it goes to the main menu and then crashes without any message; the process simply closes. I’ve tried a dozen times, and it’s always the same. It’s probably not a hardware issue, as I’m running the game on a Ryzen 7 9800X3D 32GB DDR5 6400 and an RTX 4090. If anyone has had this problem, please let me know how to fix it.

Yes, the computer is powerful, but I don’t game on it; I use it for work. I played Moder Warfare on PS4 once and enjoyed the campaign. I won’t buy the game on PC because I want to play through a seven-hour campaign. I haven’t played games in a long time; I sold my console a long time ago. I hope now you understand why I downloaded a pirate and didn’t buy it.
Have nonmonstrous pc, pirate the games…well old af games because new gayms require monstrous pc, if i ever could afford monstrous pc i won’t have money left to live+ money for buying games.

What works for me (at least for the first two missions, playing without crashing) is borderless fullscreen mode, set to high priority process in task manager (only mw.exe).

In my case, the antivirus was the problem, friend.

If you are lucky you can find it in quarantine, otherwise you must reinstall it by temporarily disabling the AV and then create an exception.

For windows 11 ppl that can’t start the game, go to windows settings -> system -> display -> graphics, and turn off the optimizations for windowed games and restart your pc. At least this works for me.

Instead, in the “Steam_Settings” game folder you will find the “Configs.user.ini” file.

This game automatically saves progress on certain key points.
The player cannot choose when to save.
Not this one my friend. I played almost 1hr. After I quit the game, there was not possibility of loading the game. It started from beginning.
Actually, something strange is happening to me too.
When I restart the game, I can only restart from the beginning of the chapters and not from the intermediate points. But even with this penalty, I can still continue.
Maybe you stopped before the end of the first chapter?

Game Completed by following these steps.
I was going through the issue – Initially i came across lot of crashes and save game issues.
For Save Game: Downloaded the V3 version by r4v3n (i guess) – It worked like post crash my game used to start from the chapter instead of start of the game. however it does not save the recent checkpoint. (still win-win)
For the untimely crashes: I came across an user’s posts somewhere on we, just felt to give it a try (don’t know who that user is – if you come across feel free to tag yourself in the comment) – It definitely worked. (follow this)
Open command prompt with admin privileges, and run the following commands one by one:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
sfc /scannow
(it will fix issues if any)
Now run these commands:

lodctr /R %windir\system32\wbem\wmiaprpl.dll
lodctr /R %windir\system32\Secur32.dll

Following is the main thing:
Open the Windows Event Viewer. (You can do so by typing “eventvwr” in the run box.)
I scrolled to “Windows logs” > “Application”
I ran the game again, thinking it will crash but to my surprise, the game did not crash AT ALL. But I took the opportunity and played the campaign. Next day tried it again and completed whole campaign without single crashes.
Please note: I avoided the desktop shortcut to start the game instead went to the file location and played through !start_cod.bat (whatever the game file name be)
I use Windows 11, AMD Ryzen 5 5600H, 4GB Graphics, 24 GB RAM.
