     It IS a game from the past, and the controls serve an important narrative function. It’s not SUPPOSED to feel effortless like other games.

   One of the best games ever made. Did what a video game is supposed to do, tell a story through gameplay. Haven’t found any game do this as well as Brothers.

     But be warned, this remake has horrible performance. I have a 4070 with a Ryzen 5600X and 40GB DDR4 at 3200Mhz. A reasonable system, certainly far above the minimum specs for this game. I have to set the graphics to 4k DLSS on performance, with HIGH settings, not medium, in order to get 60fps MOST of the time, with some huge drops into the low 40s regularly, and one or two massive drops into the low teens at certain choice moments. This game will require several updates to run as it should, it certainly should not be pushing systems like mine as hard s it does.

     Until they do get around to those performance improvements, I suggest finding a copy of the original on the GOG free download site or elsewhere. The graphics upgrade does very little for the game anyway, it seems like a cash grab, no one asked for this remake, I’m not even sure it IS a remake and not just a remaster. Maybe they added a bunch of social justice shit ‘for modern audiences’ later in the game. Who knows.

     The original was a special game. The dude yapping about bad controls just doesn’t get it. The game tells it’s story through those controls and those controls will, at the end, get an emotio9nal reaction from the cold dead hearts of many of you. It’s a game worth trying, just stick with the original for now, particularly those with weaker systems.

    i always hated this game as child and i still do now. what a stupid dramatic story it has!
