I’d like to share an unpopular opinion in regards to hypervisor. I think it’s actually a really good thing, not because of the system itself but because it has the potential to make Denuvo an obsolete technology. the only way Denuvo can beat this is if they’re granted Kernel-level security privileges, and there’s no way in hell that’s ever going to happen. because they won’t gain access to that level developers may not bother with using their technology anymore because why should I pay extra for this and risk performance loss in my game when there’s going to be a day 1 crack anyway? I think if you don’t want to use it you shouldn’t, but I also don’t think we should demonize it when it’s the first real step being taken into destroying that garbage DRM.

I think at present they’ll carry on using denuvo simply because of the ignorance and fearmongering about hypervisor, that alone is stopping people using it. I personally just use the DSE-Patcher app that can toggle driver signature encforcement with a mouse click and doesn’t need a reboot, disable – load game – alt tab – reenable – play game. I know I’m wasting my time explaining that to people who get all their information from paid “influencers” though.
Most pc owners are prebuild buyers who frankly should be on console, that means only the computer literate won’t be bothered by hypervisor scare tactics. Sadly that’s a small number, and I have relatives who have had pc’s for years and still ring me about mind numbingly basic problems that can be fixed in 10 seconds.
