    Now to the main point: I’ve looked into it (and that hurt quite a bit honestly, so much drama over… almost nothing) but here a quick neutral version:
    There’s a new character wich is described in the game as Trans. And that’s it. Yep, nothing more than that.
    Aside from the usual drama about that kind of topic, it blews up out of proportion because players wanted to point out the BAD WRITING of the character, making them believe that character was just an excuse to make the game more modern / inclusive. But you know what happens when people criticize that kind of thing: extremists (and I insist on that word, I know there’s good and bad in all parties) from SWJ an anti-SWJ will jump at the occasion to exagerate everything. By the way, that character only appear in the SoD ext it seems. And I mean, it’s a POTENTIAL party member. If you hate her for whatever reason (of course people will hate her for being Trans, but let them be), you can just ditch her. Isn’t RPG about making the party you want after all?

    This recent version SHOULD have a better story line for that character but I don’t know anything about it. One last thing, it seems a “joke / line” (about ethics) from Minsc got removed because it was a reference to Gamergate and… Sorry for my poor culture but I don’t even know what that is xD.

    And just to confirm it again: it only concers the SoD expansion.

    Big thanks to @SarkenHS for taking time in your explanation. This place is alright sometimes.

    The forced inclusion of one character, that character, seems cynical and pandering … but there’s already a “Girdle of Masculinity/Feminity” in the core game, hardly a provocative new idea.

    Now, if they graphically explain where Half-Orcs come from …

      Of course the people who dislike something are the ones with negative emotions. Much like you would probably dislike it if they spoke of God favorably in a game. Instead they can portray

      The real issue is that it is world-breaking to use woke terminology from the 21st century in a medieval setting. What next? Going to have an elf NPC start labelling people “cisgender” in the game and asking what your preferred pronouns are?

      It’s totally worldbreaking and incredulous. You might as well introduce computers and cars to Baldur’s Gate too while you’re at it.

      Or maybe they need to remake BG2 to give Irenicus an identity crisis and have him “come out” as “Irene” and maybe change the intro torture scene to be about “Irene” torturing the player character for misgendering “her”. And what about the lack of representation of black lesbians? They need to turn Imoen into a black lesbian immediately!

      You know, maybe someone needs to remake the Lord of the Rings, they were all white skinned hobbits, we need to add a pink-haired hispanic lesbian hobbit into that bigoted world and maybe Gandalf should become Gandwina, not enough female wizards there, except for that cisgender Galadriel, Need to add some black elves too. Peter Jackson must’ve been some kind of racist since only the orcs had dark skin and there were no black skinned good guys! He needs cancelled! Oh wait, I literally just looked it up and they are making black dwarves and black elves in the next LOTR. Hilarious… these people are crazy.
