Always crashes when i start the game after the Xseed logo
controls doesn’t seem to be working (keyboard +mouse). Tried using it on a DS4 with inputmapper, only the right button and triangle button seem to work. There was also an error : “access to config.dat was denied.”

I guess everyone is having the same control issue. Even from the start the warning says “Unable to access config.dat” . i’m using Logitech F310. neither X-input nor D-input is working. only the LEFT button works for selecting and nothing else works.
Controls are not working in the character creator screen, I can’t do anything else than naming the character and it doesn’t move to other options
I don’t know if it’s a bug or a glitch or just my pc but when I try to play, the game are unable to render any 3D model. At the character creation screen, there are no character appearing on the right side of the screen even though the clothing options are available and when I try to jump into the game, the dialogue box appears but without any background (it’s just blank white). Even the VN-part are working, I am unable to play the combat part due to no model or backdrop being rendered. Please help if this is a bug/glitch or my pc.

Why does it say “Access to “config.dat” was denied?” Another thing is that after the introduction, i can’t doing anything. I tried facerolling on the keyboard, but the game just repeats the introduction over and over again.

after selecting difficulties, 3 out of 4 times
after loading save game, freeze at load screen 3 out of 3 times
have yet to experience other freezes

I guess for those having issue on crash after creating character, check ur directX. Use dxdiag to check if ur video card supports dx11 on the DISPLAY tab DDI version: If its not DDI version 11 then it will crash. It wont crash on DDI version 11 (or has multiple version supported). Then for those who experience lag and keyboard/joystick mapping issues, Run the program as Administrator. In display settings use 1024×768 or 1280×720 window mode. then uncheck anti-aliasing. It worked on my 2gb ram 1gb VRAM Win7 PC.

When I open the game it only shows Black screen with the music playing. When I try to move my mouse and click somewhere there’s a sound of pressed button. But I can’t see anything.

Guys i also noticed in the game while playing this, the longer you play the more physical ram it uses thus resulting in a crash and unable to terminate the program even force close while you are hearing that the game is still running. Although its working in my AMD PC that is only 2GB RAM i cant play this for longer periods of time. And also take note, it crashes on some NVIdia cards at loading screen after character setup. Dont know if its hardware issue or its NVIDias fault bug. Is there any workaround to fix this?

here’s what I do
start as admin like other guy said
resolution: 1280 x 720
no fullscreen no Vsync (always freeze with those 2 on)
anti aliasing is fine
put on zero for both max number of appearance and draw npc (maybe okay to put in on the middle if your pc is strong enough)
I also put the voice on Japanese but I don’t think this matter
for control: since its not fullscreen just remap the keyboard according to your taste
if this doesn’t work, wait for new crack or patch

i use celeron G550 and Ram 4GB if full screen it will crash but if i not use full screen and alt+enter its not crash in my problem if i use consol crotrol i cant seting analog in configuration and after lauch game alway press down

For those who get white blank screen its because the game not run with your gpu. Open your nvdia control panel and set from integrated to high-performance nvdia.

I keep copying everything into the folder and replacing it with the cracked versions and I keep getting an application error everytime I try to run it. The actual message I’m given is “The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application.” Anyway around this?

i got a intel hd graphics and i got white/blank screen problem on 3d models.
now i know apu causes that error but unfortunately my laptop only have integrated graphics card.

for the control problem try to configure it from scratch by assign it one by one and do not use the default one if the default one don’t work.

The game released a patch yesterday to fix a lot of the crash issues. Maybe someone can make that patch available.
Same problem as Rio Ackerman. Weird enough sure but the game worked flawlessly just two days ago. Actually on my 3rd playthrough when this issue popped up. Basically all BGM, Most videos(xseed logo still pops up but who cares) and most of the Character Voices are gone, control scheme on Main menu is busted, with only question marks instead of button images on the lower right screen. and unable to use any button on the keyboard save for the Enter button. In-game, most stay the same like controls and such but npc loads much slowe and as mentioned earlier BGM, and cutscene voices are gone but combat quotes and grunts, sound effects like footsteps and punch noises are present. That’s about all the details i can remember. A solution or at least a suggestion would be much appreciated.
In short i suspect it to be a directory problem. Game.exe is looking for the configs, videos and sound files in all the wrong places. How in blue blazes did my game get like this i’ll never know. But, again, I’m humbly requesting help, Team Skidrow. Your (and this game’s) fans will be waiting here.

Open AkibaUU’s properties
Run in compatibility mode with “Windows 7”
Run in administrator
If it works, cool, if not then at least we tried

I played the game just fine with 1080p/vsync/aa on fullscreen, using ps3 controller + xpadder up till the point I get free control of my character and decided to save the game and quit, the next time I tried to load the game it always crashes.

Like ive said, it worked only on AMD or ATI videocards, crashes on NVIDIA but maybe it works on latest NVIDIA cards. Plus, this game is unplayable for long periods of time bcoz it hogs more RAM and makes ur PC not responding if ur low on RAM. it hangs after playing for few minutes, it cant be closed even force close in task manager. the result: u need to logoff ur PC. I hope they release a patch fix for this bugs.

i know the way to fix stuck on character creation controller not working (im using windows 7 64 bit)….. (Since long ago)
use save data that pass through character creation screen than load it… the controller will fix itself and just quit to the main menu, new game and re-create your character…

Update please. Windows 10 crashes because our build is far behind the current patched builds.
After 20 minutes of trying to get the game to get past the difficulty selection, what finally worked for me was:
1. Installing the game as admin
2. Giving admin permissions too both .exe after placing the crack into the folder.
3. Running the game at 1200 x 900 without fullscreen.
Yeah I know that it sucks we can’t play the game that we want to, but at least it is free.

1. From my experience this wont work on Windows 10 ( i had Windows 10 pro) it only crashed on Windows 10 for me.
2. On windows 8, run in compatibility mode for Windows 7 or Vista (this will fix the config.dat not found error)on Windows 7, try Vista
3. if the above didnt work, try running with administrator

For people experiencing crashing in windows 10:
Moving the following audio files to another folder, if not deleting them can fix frequent crashes
bgm.stm
evvoice.stm
sound.stm
The files can be found in the “lang_common” and lang_jp/lang_us” folders.
The negative effects will be a lack of the corresponding audio ingame.
Also be sure to run the game as admin.

The new crack managed to fix the control issues, however cinematic cutscenes/music/voices dont play. The only thing that plays is the sound effects. I cant play like this.

I have been trying for hours and hours to get this game to work on my laptop (win 7), got everything installed and when I tried copying the crack files into the game directory, it copied 2 out of 3 of the files. It left the ‘steam_api.dll’ and says I don’t have permission to move the file, so I can’t start the game at all, as it gives me the ‘cannot launch without steam running’ error message. I’ve tried all the things I can find on forums for allowing permissions for ‘everyone’ as the file wants me to, but no avail. I don’t want to give up on this game but i think I’m going to have to at some point //-\\ any help would be hugely appreciated!!

how to install ?
Mount the ISO file and install the game.
Once it’s installed, it will tell you that you can run some apps (DirectX, etc.) you can install them if you want. Btw, I installed them for me.
Copy the files on the crack folder to the game directory (where all your game files was put).
Then run the game as an administrator, it will work, but it may take a while.
Make sure you have atleast 6gb ram, I tried it on 4gb ram it and it will crash after a while.
If you’re running on windows 10, run the game on windows 8 compatibility mode. (Select the AkibaUU.exe file, right click and choose properties, you will see multiple options, tick the “run on compatibility with:” checkbox or something like that, choose windows 8, windows 7 or windows
vista (service pack 2). Then press ok.

steam_api.dll from Crack folder cannot be copied/paste over to the directory. I tried changing permissions in security tab but it wont solve it. Im lost…anyone has the same problem or knows a fix?

I’ve had this issue with other games, disabling my AV till i copied the files and adding them as exceptions helped.
i need help i imount it and instal it and do crack but when i launch it it says its unabble to launch and the element steam_api.dll dissapears
