   Good little game in the same nod-to-the-NES-era vein as something like Shovel Knight. Has a neat gimmickalmost like a 2D platformer version of the Portal Gun trick, where youe jump into a hole in the ground and fall into an upside-down ‘dark world’ version of the level, landing on the ceiling after your jump momentum carries you back down (or up). This leads to the need to master this trick of momentum as the game progresses, in order to progress past otherwise impossible obstacles.

   Megaman style weapon power ups. The music has a chiptune version and a more up-to-date one. Only 3 resolutins, 1080p, 720p and oddly 240p, which I suppose in reality is 480p (back in the day, the old consoles ran at around 240 pixels vertical, but fill the whole screen by splitting the picture with alternating black gaps, giving games of the era that trademark ‘scanlines’ look).

   Anyway, this is good. Anyone who can happily sit and play an NES classic platformer, or can spend many an hour playing the likes of Shovel Knight, Axiom Verge, Retro City Rampage or Super Time Force for the retro-love as well as the gameplay will feel at home.

   Had a nice time with this and will be buying next week.
