I isntalled the game, and i have a desktop shortcut that gets me to choose one of the two games, but when i click one nothing happens, what did i do wrong?
Does anyone else get an error when trying to click “start” or “options” in 999, but VLR works just fine?

How do we fix the sound? Can’t hear anything
Does anyone else have no music or voices? I only have sound effects, and the menu is silent.
To fix the no sound issue :
try installing OpenAL Soft
You can download it here[kcat.strangesoft.net] (look for openal-soft-1.17.2-bin.zip). You’ll have to save the ‘bin/Win32/soft_oal.dll’ from that zip file as ‘OpenAL32.dll’ in your game’s installation folder.
For some reason the game doesn’t have any kind of sound aside from the sound effects like water entering, walking, door, and the likes. No voice and background music. Both for 999 and last virtues.

People!! i really need your help!!! i was dumb enough to lose the crack file, could somebody pleeeeease upload the crack file alone? or give me a link or something? downloading the whole game once again only for the crack would be THAT much of a pain.

Thank you so much for the fast release, the download and the installation worked just fine but I do have a problem. When I try to start either of the two games nothing happens? There’s no bug or errors, it simply doesn’t do anything…
anyone getting error “appliaction was termed” on 999? it happens after the credit for me and that made me unable to save my ending.

For no sound fix issue.
Thanks to helper I found out that if you go in your games’s installation folder and go into _CommonRedist/OpenAL/2.0.7.0 and install Oalinst the sound will work. Also go to _CommonRedist/
DirectX/Jun2010 and install DXSETUP that will help with the sound.

…the game crashes after the credits…which normally wouldnt be a problem but you have to complete the game multiple times in order to get the whole story and we cant do that if we cant get through the credits

When the end credits finish I got an error “application was termed” and I lost part of my progresse (;-;)

i can’t install the game, my image mount software (alcohol 120%) won’t recognize the iso file even after mounting it into a virtual drive unit. i’ve been installing every pirated game for years with A120% so why doesn’t it work with this one specific game?

The game is bugged, every time you get to Clover axe ending, you know that one where she kills every one with an axe after the “bad ending” screen the game just crashes and tells you “999 application was termed” …You can’t really get to the true ending in this game without collecting all the other endings first, so this torrent might as well be marked as nuked…
Same “application was termed” error here after a bad ending. This was like playing a demo. Hope there is some fix for that because I am really hooked.

i think this game stole some mechanical from danganronpa
warlord and everyone that have the problem of “an application” terminated with the 999, at least for everyone that have the problem after credits, i solve it, copying the files of the crack, u can see them also in some “crackfix” files in other webpages, why it solve it?, because the installer dont copy all files, or at least dont have all the files right, is one “steam” file, i think that “steam_api” or the “steam_api” .dll, just copy all the files look what file dont have the same kbs and overwrite that one, and boom.
probably the steam file was old, and the game try to save the steam archievement but as we are not using steam, boom fail, with the update versión he just skip that.

It would help if you checked the release dates for both 999 and danganronpa before.accusing 999 stole mechanics from danganronpa. It would help ease your stupidity. 999 was released on 2009 while danganronpa was released 2010. In addition, both are developed by spike chunsoft.
Please try to google facts first before accusing something. It would really help.
@Chipp: Are you a fucking idiot? Zero Escape is not the same as Danganronpa. Sure, it might “steal” some mechanics, though I’m not sure which one since Danganronpa is more to the debate mechanics while Zero Escape is more to puzzle solving and leaping through scenarios. Besides, both are made by the same devs, Spike Chunsoft.

hi im already downloaded the crack fix and extract it to the game folder but when i load the game using the old save file before update the crack that i played i still face the crash. are we need to play in new game with new save file with the new crack ?

@hal for me the old save worked right after use the crackfix and overwrite the files so dont know why fail to u, did u try another configuration? maybe is a fail of directx, or resolution etc.

The only thing that’s good on Danganronpa series is those flashy female character (Junko bitch and Chiaki my waifu) :p Story wise and gameplay, I prefer Zero Escape series except the last one (Dillema).
Btw, they didn’t include the Syringe ending on IOS version 999 into this :/ Welp, doesn’t matter. I’m only interested on the sequel (VLR) coz I don’t own a Vita and 3DS. Beaten 999 three times (1st one on DS, 2nd and 3rd on emulator) already, no need track back for PC version.

That patch fixes the crash upon gettin endings.
Otherwise all us pirates won’t get the true ending.
For anyone who has a problem with crash, can’t play, black screen after logo, no sounds
1. Install directX, Dotnet, OpenAL that in _CommonRedist folder that appear in game directory
2.go to download lav installer from https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases and install

Thank you Raintrain, that did the trick…I spent several hours figuring out what could be happening…made it work on WIndows 7 but followed your steps and now it’s finally working on Windows 10. I guess I just lacked the LAV filters.

Did anyone get a problem with steam trying to pop it up to Allow game launch and just leading you to the store page? I keep getting the problem even with the crack and the launcher and both ze1 and ze2 not allowed to access the internet.
Instaled everything but still crashes at the end. Any config in specific on LAVFilters to make it work or something?
I can launch 999 just fine but Virtue’s Last Reward is just a white screen/not responding, please help
It might be just me, but when i finish a playthrough of 999 i dont get an ending in the save menu so i cant get the true ending.

It appears that you have to replace ‘ze2_data_en_us.bin’ with ‘ze2_data_jp.bin’ to change the text to Japanese.
Are the endings repaired yet?
