If the game runs for only a few seconds then silently quits, it could be one of two problems: network access OR codec.
1) I had to enable network access; then the game would run. No codec fixes worked.
2) For other folks, installing the latest K-Lite codec pack has worked.
3) For other folks with up-to-date K-Lite or Shark codec packs, removing the file “VSFilter.dll” works.
4) For other folks with these packs, the fix has been to disable DirectVobSub in the pack’s configuration settings.

same here… lets me do everything but load the game. a quick flash to black screen and back to desktop. Even after trying crack. Gonna try the above fitgirl torrent as a last resort cause i realy wanted to try this game. It looks soooooo interesting 🙂 Cross my fingers!
