   it dont install, say that game not found please reinstall, i think that I install the game in other ssd and I change the original directory, but how I can change the directory of the patch, because dont have this option, anyone with this problem?

   We need someone to share REG file, to register the base game in regedit, so the Update can recongnize the game and start installing without any problem. that’s why i hate GOG updates only, because it need reg files of base game first. but since GOG version of this game already installed (unrar & play). Mean game is not registred in regedit. we will wait

     Otherwise, there are no problems with the GOG version, you inst. it and run the update and that’s it. This time it was all ready inst. (direct play) but the update is a exe.

     Thanks a lot, I updated this reg file. Just rename the main folder with a longer name to Games then change your drive letter instead of C or if you already have on C leave it like that

     nope, after i modified the C: location of the registery to E: where my game is for all of the lines with C: in them.
     it says not enough hard drive space when you try to install the update. maybe i did something wrong.
     but i was saying the game wasn’t found before, so i might just need the right info put in the reg file.

    For those having issues, do a fresh install (and delete any leftover BIN files in the instal directory) and THEN do the update. Worked for me.

    the update has a problem after 2 H waiting for insatall at the end i saw just error .what is this 2gig update 2hours waiting for patching and at the end ERROR

    reg file did work after all,edit with notepad and make sure locations are correct,the add it to the regisrty.rub the installer,it looks like it hands but leave it for along time and it goes through and installs

    Just patched the game with GOG patcher from here
    1) The update progess bar didnt even move for me but it finished for me in about 15 min HDD
    to be sure if its working i opened TASKMANAGER check diskusage (read%write combined 120MB/s all time)
    2)At the end it showed me error saying ” error on \\content\metadata.store”. When looked the Patch.log it showed one file couldnot be patched
    3)I started the game and it ran smooth for me Dx12, rtx 3050 for almost 3 hours,no crash nothing.
    AFTER that i searched about error on CS.RIN.RU found same error for people and Fix
    PATCHED FILE got from there, So now all is good for me

    THINGS I DID
    Made a backup copy,
    USED PABLO’s REGEDIT file (Above) and made changes in 5 different LINES about installation directory Mine in “D drive” And added to registry.
    Make sure ATleast 100gb free space available
    Started patching UPDATION BAR didnt move at all But taskmanager showed 100% diskusage
    i made a copy to C:Games\The witcher 3 so if all failed could try again from c drive after editing regedit again

    IF 1 or 2 file error ask in CS.RIN.RU for the patched file rest will be normal files

    Works fine for me. At start the bar was still near the beginning and i thought it stuck, but all ok later. Need HDD spaces and maybe some of you have problems with long names and can’t install it.

    Guys don’t be angry, just use the reg file and change location of the game. Because default location is C:Games and every pc is configured differently. Use notepad to change location (your game location in your pc) of the game save it and use the reg to rewrite original registry. Just open it as exe and then update will be working. It looks sticked but isn’t.

    I downloaded only the HotFix – CS file, copied the content of update folder into my root game dir, launched the .bat, and the installation of the patch worked perfectly on first try.

    Lmao at the people having issues with the update. The goty version is like dirt cheap on sale and you’ll never have to worry about the update breaking your game ever again. Game is amazing and the devs deserves your support.

    for easy fix just download the base Complete Edition from Razor1911

    -1st fresh install using The_Witcher_3_Wild_Hunt_Complete_Edition-Razor1911
    -2nd install this hotfix 1 and hotfix 2

    If you have trouble installing, just right click on game folder and click on properties, then uncheck Read Only. (it looks stuck but will finish successfully after a while)

    Just install the game on C:\Games\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt GOTY
    You need to have at least 20GB free space for fix
    Then install fix 1 and 2

    after failing first try to update i recognized that there is a regfile to use to fix destination problem,,didnt work either,,

    so i deinstalled it,,installed it again using directly the regfile after installation and it works…thanks for your infos
