See the post by Nam San above. You have to install Microsoft gaming services THEN follow the instructions for the GDK file. It will ask you to make a Microsoft account, so just use a throwaway email, you have to log it in the game to connect.
Be aware this account will also double as a loggged in Windows account in your Windows account settings, so it’s best to log it out of there and go back to a local account if you don’t want Microsoft spying on your shit. This won’t effect the game.
tldr: It does work, you just need gaming services installed first with a throwaway account.
Theres no singleplayer mode nor bots its ONLY mULTIPLAYER sao it will need patching alot.

Been playing 2 days straight and I’ve had no soft ban issues with it. Can also see I’m getting Xbox and PSX players on crossplay too, with near instant queue times. I expect the fix will need regular updates though, as the game updates and devs reacy to people playing ift free. Assuming they care that is, I mean DBD was playable free for about 6 years before they stopped it.

Does anyone know how to change the install location after running the bat? It seems stubborn about working only where you ran the bat file from, I’ve tried copying it out and repeating the process, but it won’t load it. It’s stuck playing from my torrents folder for now.

You will realistically need 2 accounts for Family and Victims, because the xp system is dumb as fuck causing skill point gain to grind to a halt the more you level up. In short more xp is needed between levels and you only get skill points for leveling. You can focus on 3 characters unless you plan on playing forever, the rest will just stagnate.
To use multiple accounts do the following:
1. If you have Xbox app close it.
2. Type regedit and hit enter
3. Navigate through HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > Microsoft
4. Go down to Xbox and XboxLive, right click their folders and delete.
5. Close Registry Editor
6. Restart your PC
7.You’ll be asked to enter account details on launching again, letting you switch.

Game has already been completely ruined by hackers, and I mean COMPLETELY, as in this is the new csgo. Only bother if you want Family members teleporting right to you and insta downing or Victims who can run like the Flash. There’s also the really sad fuckers that try and hide it, and will hang around a bush you’re in that they had NO WAY of knowing, then they get impatient and just bee line right for you.
There’s no anti cheat at all, the game is effectively DOA because of that. I give it 3 months. Prognosis: terminal.

Doesn’t seem to work any more. You can get to the menu and your progress is all there. but if you try to join a game you just get error codes.
maybe needed to someone share the patched microsoft files .

From online-fix.me forums, this is IMPORTANT!
1) Open the game folder and go to the EasyAntiCheat folder. Next, copy the path to this folder (click on the line to the left of the search + ctrl c)
2) Write cmd in the Windows search and open the console with administrator rights. In it, write a CD space and paste the previously copied path with the game (in my case it was like this: CD C:\T\The Texas Chain Saw Massacre\The.Texas.Chain.Saw.Massacre.v1.0.7.0-OFME\The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
3) Paste this command into the console: EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe install 8dba60c1deac46338b777faa0cc138b6
4) Launch the game
Instructions for the bat file are still the same so run that first.

In the event that it does not allow the Easy cheat to be installed, the game is launched from start_protected_game.exe, it goes without problems and you can play well
The CMD Command doesnt work for me
Open the Easy Anti cheat folder, actually open it not right click the folder.
In the folder location bar at the top right click EasyAntiCheat and select copy address.
Start – cmd – open as administrator
Enter “cd paste the address you copied” eg cd D:\The Texas Chain Saw Massacre\EasyAntiCheat” without the quotes.
Paste this command into the console: EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe install 8dba60c1deac46338b777faa0cc138b6
Also don’t forget to run the GDK_Helper file again (as administrator) and follow the original instructions:

Delete the previous installed program few kilobite, and should work this manually installing.
De igual forma no encuentra partida, hoy descagué la supuesta actualización e hice todo lo que dice el archivo y si inicia el juego, pero no encuentra partida. Si alguien mas sabe como solucionarlo, espero nos ayude.
Update info – this version seems to be working OK with todays update, so far anyway. They might have just changed things server side, or not enough client side to make it incompatible.
Update:
It does now seem to HAVE STOPPED WORKING. They may have had some sort of grace period for people on older patch, but it’s gone now.
It’s the same error messages as the last update, so you’ll have to wait until the new crack comes out, assuming there is one.
