    Okay a word of warning about this release, just downloaded it and it does NOT use the paradox launcher which is needed for activation/deactivation of mods and dlcs.
    Why did this group start rushing releases lately? lets hope someone else release a better version.

  3. Suati (24 Oct 2019, 16:56)

    wow thank you so much

    que, they have changed paradox launcher bny verison x.4 +….

  6. MegamiSothis (24 Oct 2019, 20:39)

    No multi-langages, no launcher (you can’t choose which dlc /pack you want), it’s sadly a waste of time. But thanks, I guess.

  7. kuro (24 Oct 2019, 21:35)

    no launcher? wtf

  8. Delethium (24 Oct 2019, 23:27)

    If you have a previous cracked version of stellaris the the *.4 version launcher, you can fix the lack of launcher issue.
    Go to the previous cracked games install folder and copy “launcher-settings.json” to the new game folder (This one, stellaris lithoids species pack) and overwrite or rename the old “launcher-settings.json” file.

    Then double click “dowser.exe” and it should open the launcher, you can create a shortcut of this to your desktop

  9. Bloblet (24 Oct 2019, 23:32)

    If you have a previous cracked version of stellaris 2.4 installed you can copy over that ones “launcher-settings.json” File into the new install directory (for the lithoids species pack install)

    Rename or replace the old “launcher-settings.json”, then double click on “dowser.exe”

    This will make the launcher function normally, you can then create and rename a shortcut of dowser.exe on your desktop.

    Hope this helps

    Please note that the method i mentioned above might not allow you to open the stellaris game properly through it, but it will allow you to enable or disable dlc’s, (There will be the option to select or deselect the dlc’s, and a button to select “done” once you have the ones you want)

    once you have selected the dlc’s you want, click play and it might open the game, if it doesn’t, open the game through the direct exe and it will only have the dlc’s you selected active.

    Not a perfect fix, but the one i found
    🙂

  11. Chaosmachine (25 Oct 2019, 9:27)

    ive tried it every way you guys said and i can enable mods but the dlcs are enabled i manually enabled all of them but when i launch the game all the dlcs arent there like they are disabled so idk what to do anymore

  12. happy (25 Oct 2019, 12:33)

    Can’t seem to get the steamworks fix working, anyone else got that problem?

  13. Suati (25 Oct 2019, 14:45)

    In my case, when I select lithoids species… I have a bug with traits… Basically they dont show up and that’s a pity cuz I can’t even play the new race 🙁

  14. thank you (25 Oct 2019, 14:59)

    dowser.exe has we had trouble communicating with steam. ~~~ error.
    so need wait next update. T.T

  15. deadcrusade (25 Oct 2019, 16:52)

    If you want the launcher go to the game files open up “launcher-settings.json” and edit “”distPlatform”: “steam”,” to gog and it should look like this “distPlatform”: “gog”, save it, might need admin premision but after that just run dowser and SKIP the log in part and voila you sexy mofo you can choose which DLCs and which mods you want 🙂

  16. acestealth (25 Oct 2019, 20:03)

    TY deadcrusade!

  17. SeptimusRaven (25 Oct 2019, 20:50)

    Living Rocks? Wow, Paradox is really scratching the bottom of the barrel with this one. And it’s not like it would be unbelievably stupid to assume this is not possible; after all sci-fi is full of examples of silicate/quartz/pyrite/etc based life forms (like the tholians from star trek) and some are even explained into minute detail, how is it that they are “alive” and how they came to be.

    But this… Rocks with crystals of various shapes and colors coming out of them, conducting advanced interstellar exploration, research and even warfare. Another 8 euro DLC. Cha-ching. Enjoy. But don’t attempt to actually turn your brain on for it may find itself questioning just what in the hell is going on.

  18. Ail (29 Oct 2019, 8:57)

    All you have to do is:
    – open game install folder
    – run dowser.exe
    – skip login

  19. tumba (30 Oct 2019, 14:45)

    cant activate the rock dudes.
    i’ve done deadcrusade tip, i activated de DLC but when the game launch, the rock party is nowhere to be seen.

  20. sorasan (31 Oct 2019, 10:58)

    For those who not using steam, I did what deadcrusade did but differently

    In the game folder, go to launcher-settings.json

    replace steam with gog

    save

    run dowser.exe

    at top right click skip

    Enable all my mods

    Click Play ( which will tell me fail to start Play )

    Go back to game folder, double click stellaris.exe

    I am now able to load game with my mods. Able to see the new race, my 2.3 wallpaper mods running ok, gigastructures seem to be fine, question did pop out for the diversity mods.

    Guess I gotta do this extra step.

  21. Maxim Hakim (02 Nov 2019, 8:34)

    TXS sorasan, works fine!!!

  22. Cabron51 (02 Nov 2019, 11:53)

    If someone would change a language in game use this command at console in menu “switchlanguage l_english”

  23. Santa Claus (26 Dec 2019, 1:25)

    Switching steam to gog made my launcher start working but it doesn’t see any of my mods(which I know are updated and are working fine in a ancient relics launcher. Anyone know how to get the new 2.5.1 launcher to see mods? Oh and hohoho merry christmas~

  24. Nikolai2029 (03 Jan 2020, 21:17)

    Im having the same problem, replacing the launcher-setting.json from steam to gog fixed the launcher and allows me to change the dlcs but cant see the mods. i am however using the hoodlum release but im making the comment here because here at least there is some discussion going on how to fix the problems.

  25. Omega (06 Jan 2020, 15:46)

    Okay, I think I found a solution for the mods to appear in the launcher. I tried all the ways in pages and this page too but never got the mods show up. but after I did this I got the mods on the launcher.

    basically uninstall the launcher. If you have it installed basically open the “launcher-installer-windows.msi” and click the option to uninstall or remove. If you haven’t installed the launcher, don’t do it.

    Then put the mods in a folder called “mod” (without the quotes) and put there all the mods both the random number folders and the .mod

    Then once all the mods are set, then click on dowser.exe. DO NOT click the launcher-installer-windows.msi. Once that is done the mods should appear.

    If it still doesn’t come out, you may have to do this.

    Basically do the same thing, desinstall the launcher with launcher-windows-installer.msi.

    Go to the mods folder and modify the .mod files
    in the “path” line to change or replace this:

    path=”/mod/123456789″
    (the number depends on the mod so you will have to put the corresponding number mod).

    and add this line also if you don’t have the .mod

    remote_file_id=”123456789″

    Then close it, go to properties of all .mod files and click “read only”. Save it, reinstall the launcher with dowser.exe and it should appear.

    sorry if i don’t understand english well, it’s not my native language.

    I hope this helps you.

  26. sorasan (08 Jan 2020, 11:28)

    Excellent explanation & solid find !

    So far there are 3 types of error ppl are in …
    Cannot launcher
    Cannot see mod but launcher is working
    Can launcher, can see old mods but newly mod not appearing

    The above literally solved the issues.

    If not,
    Opening the .mod file with notepad revels the path

    version=”2.5.*”
    tags={
    “Balance”
    “Species”
    “Gameplay”
    }
    name=”Trait Diversity – Trait Points Traits”
    path=”C:/Users/SoRaSAN/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/workshop/content/281990/1934610438″
    remote_file_id=”1934610438″

    As Omega indicated, change the path to where the mod folder is located.
    Do note if the mod folder contains zipped files, do not expand that zip. Usually it contains sub folders but sometimes it’s a zipped folder .

    Thks for your find, Omega.
