@Dayyim: i have 1803 and works fine i always disable update so i can stay with this version. u need to run game from Start Menu (shortcut) if u cant find it, search in start menu ‘State of decay 2) then run it
btw u dont need any update this is full game “standalone” inclu all update and others DLCs
For new version 1903 or others, just wait for New crack FIX.

I am on 1809 version, after launch and opening animations game closes. Maybe it should work because on lower versions it never opens startup animations…

THX i spent about 50 very pleasant hours on this game,and i will maybe spend again some others cause it has this thing that change everything wich immerse you like nothing could more : different characters you can loose,as for the next Watch dogs legion.

On windows 1803 opens the first animations and then closes the game… Sometimes u can see the animations, some times you can only hear animations.
And of course.. my old version game doesn’t runs anymore…

I have done everything tutorials said. But never worked. Always, after the animation, the main menu and CRASH to desktop. I updated my windows 8 to 10 just to play this fuking game and there is no way. Always the same. (oh! it rhyme)

You must have Windows 10 Version 1803. others version will not work
Second: after u extract game u will find file in game folder called “InstallApp.exe” run it and as i see it will close so fast with message “…done”
Last: do not run game from exe from folder you must run it from Start menu shortcut.
Click Start Menu (left bouttom windows logo) and if u cant find State of Decay 2 in apps there, just search (write) there for State of Decays 2 u will find it, Click & Enjoy

@Eddy: CODEX atm never cracked UWP games (for new Windows version) but looks like State of Decay 2 Heartland (new DLC) still work with same CODEX crack (for old State of decay 2 version) but only in Windows 10 1803.
atleast its great than nothing, others players need to wait for CODEX to release new Update/Crack for Others Windows version

Sooner or later the hardware will get old and fail, because of used capacitors or deterioration. When you’ll have to buy a new mobo it can only install Win10 or newer, because support for win7/8 has been cancelled. The lack of support may not affect you yet, but it does for the equipment manufacturers who are already unable to make new drivers for win7&8. In the end, you’ll all end up with WINDOWS 10 anyway and there, you cannot turn off the automatic updates anymore. So, i have a problem.
Long time ago i had a problem with SoD2 and i mess up the Windows Settings and now everytime i try to lauch the game, it doesnt open. So at the time i unstalled and leave but now with that new DLC i really want to go back and play, i tried to install but the InstallApp.exe doesnt work, just open and show “Register universal app…” and then closes really fast, i tried everything, i search in the internet, here in Skidrow, but no one else have this problem. I tried to install a old version but i doesnt work either, i tried with the Fitgirl pack but the Install (Crack) have the same problem that InstallApp have with this one, the game doesnt lauch.
Please, can someone please help me? I am about to Reset the computer and try again but i’m going to lost a lot of things in that computer.

For everyone who complains that the game do not work or something, forget it. This game does NOT WORK on any windows version above 1083!
Microsoft is buying the best hackers to protect its products and as such the ones that are left or lacking skills or asking for a lot of money to crack the games.
So you need an old windows 10 version from 1709 to 1803, switch off your internet to prevent updating and never switch on your internet connection or windows will update. That works for me.

hi all people it been long time i try to play this game but now i just use my old latop asus r510jx and install windows 10 1709 and try inall app is ok and star game is ok and play play is ok
and my new latop ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DU ram 32gb VGA 6gb use many type version windows 10 to tesk like 1703 1709 and 1803 but it don’t work inall app and can’t play don’t know why and i can;t use game mod ON too only at version 1809 and 1903 can see game mod ON now thta is my report good luck and have a nice day.

Got the codex 4.0 version working on my 1909 build, gonna try on this 1 too after i finish the base game cause it doesn’t have heartland DLC.
Just tried this steps on the older version
1- Windows Store, Xbox and Xbox Identity applications must be installed.
2- Make sure the XBox Live Game Save service is not disabled.
3- Also virtualization (Hyper-V Support) must be set off either in OS settings and/or in BIOS just in case.
Then using the powershell methode by:
Holding shift and right click somewhere (not on a file) in the Installation Directory game folder/AppFile and select “Open powershell window here”
Once the powershell window shows the game path, paste this in the window:
Add-AppxPackage -register AppxManifest.xml
Hit enter, and once it’s finished processing you’ll be able to play.

Obviously “Works only on Windows 1803” is not accurate, if you were able to run it on a 1809 winver before.
I am going to try this on the current 1909 winver build and will not downgrade for a game. 180X was horribly buggy and missing essential features and performance boostings.
Ok, I can confirm that this release is NOT working on Windows 19 Build: 1909
Even manipulating it for rev. 1809 was working great. You will crash upon the first State of Decay 2 “Skull Bird” logo or the Gamma-Settings area, after the Unreal Engine logo.
Don’t download this version.
(Check your windows version with “winver” via Windows+R execute panel.)
This download work perfectly on WIn 10 ver 1803.
Crash on later version .. so, dont blame download, it already said
