    For anyone getting a black screen I deleted the ds.ini file and ran the main exe as admin and it started up after a little pop up error.

    I opened the install folder and there’s another executable file aside from the game executable that caught my eye.

    The file’s name is DARKSiDERSTRO01.exe

    Could this be a possible malware/trojan? I don’t remember another game from this group having a similar file.

    Any kind of info is greatly appreciated.

    === DEFINITIVE CRACK SOLUTION FOR NINNINDAYS ===

    Hi, apparently I have found a way to get the game starting and running properly, _WITHOUT_ the popup errors that show up when you use the ds.ini delete trick (these popups show not only at the startup but also after the endings, so they can be bothersome).

    Instructions:

    1. Go to main game install folder
    2. Delete or rename the artemissteam_achievements.dll file
    3. Make a copy of the cracked steam_api.dll file and rename the copy to artemissteam_achievements.dll (you still need a steam_api.dll in the folder so copy it, don’t just rename the original).
    4. You’ll need the ds.ini file. If you have removed it, place it in the game folder again. If you don’t have it anymore and deleted the .iso, you can copy the ds.ini from any other darksiders release if you happen to have one around, just edit the ds.ini file in Notepad and change AppName= to NinNinDays and AppId= to 1075980
    5. Done!

    Ideally DARKSIDERS should have this crack nuked and proper’ed, but until then this seems to work flawlessly, I skipped through the entire game again trying all routes and got no errors.
