Has to do with Services “Application Readiness” and “Application Information”. If all those “Application xxxxxxxx” services are turned OFF, it runs fine. They also affect “Force Unleashed II” negatively. Make SURE you have your Bitlocker drive key ready because turning any of those services OFF will remove all Administrator access as well as ANY execution protection of programs and that’s why it works when they are turned OFF. Figuring this all out cost me ~4 hours last night.

If you are asked for an activation code, exit the game.
1-Open the game file installed on your computer and then in a new window mount the disk image in the torrent.
2-On the disk image open the skidrow folder and find the paul.dll file.
3- Copy the paul.dll file from the disk image anduse it to overwrite the paul.dll file in the game files.
4- Relaunch the game and it should work.

I lost that system and bought a used 1005Pe off of Ebay, never got this turkey to run again. So I bought a $50 1225B with AMD 6830 GPU in it and it runs fine. How I ever had it running on a 1005Pe with 3150 GPU is unknown to me but I had also reinstalled DirectX 9.0c plus DirectX 10 and 11 but not necessarily in that order. Can’t seem to replicate that happy mistake now but it is a hardware limitation. Also 3Danalyzer can be used to bypass these hardware issues, but I have not gotten the switch settings right so far. Microsoft error message for this is utterly useless!

From system management, the Windows error logs inside Event Viewer reveal a bit more also.
It’s a HARDWARE issue. This COULD be intended to keep the thing from ever starting on single-CPU machines but I had this running on an Asus 1005Pe earlier this year. I just cannot remember if that was x64 Windows XP or x64 Win7. So we keep on hacking until something stops burping.
This does work if anyone is wondering. Make sure to run as admin . also use the one in the lucus arts foltder not he downloads\
