This game as it stands right now its not worth the money its asking for.
Game looks like its in alfa state.
    There are bugs like:
*Npc text keeps poping up, unless you restart the game from scratch (loading game makes it worse)
    *Grafical gliches
*Sound is mess when lots of rockets fire and you will hear crackling in your speakers
*Trying to save (just trying) on a spaceship inside the dock will crash the game
*Some ship desigs are bugged and you wont be able to dock on station
*One of the npcs in game in far away sector sells lasers for 0, wich makes it pointless to do missions (as you can just vendor them in another station)
*Some missions cannot be completed at all as they can bug if you chose a different choice (water plant quest)
*Maps on some stations just dont work well and sometimes you can see a large green arrow

    Missing stuff:
*Lots of stations you are trying to land in other sectors are unfinished
    *Same goes for npcs
*There are grafical gliches in some stations

My verdict is that you should wait till game patches at least those problems before you buy it as by the looks of it needs 1 more year minimum to be fixed.
But if you want to buy it and support it, its your choice realy.

Or just get a x-4 game lol, as its gona be out soon.

Good thing I didn’t buy it. Really dodged a bullet with this one. It’s in EA(fuck, that’s foreboding) or Early Access if you’re that iffy about abbreviations, so there’s still much to work on but at this state it’s really not worth the money. My issue are as follows:

    Combat:
Miniguns are the best. They shoot down rockets, shred shields and cost effective in heat management. You can mount side cannons and such but they pale in comparison to rockets that pretty much does what side cannons could do but better as they can put up decent damage while side cannons can’t do shit until they land which adds to another point to the rockets: they hit faster and cost less space.

Lasers, are shit as well as the rail gun. They’re not space efficient even on large ships as the former seems to be quite short while the latter requires several extensions before even denting enemy shields while it charges. You have no control for when you release the charge by the way so yeah. They’re shit. Cruise missiles are better in that regard as enemy ships are also on that train. Point your cursor on them and watch their shields go down.

As I said earlier, the minigun is the best weapon. The game gives you engine that boost your turn speed and what mofo wouldn’t want that in space combat? The wider the ship, the wider spray it has.You only need to turn around fast enough and that’s where the combat devolves to as enemies just rotate around you like flies on cowpat.

    Ship building:

Kind of limiting actually. Why not give the players the freedom to put the cockpit where ever they please? Isn’t that the point? The tetris-like shape these designs have are cancer already, throw people a bone and let them be creative at how they’d design their ship. This is nothing but inane busy work and honestly this doesn’t really differ from what rebel galaxy does. Least that game gives us 3D combat while letting us man the weapons we use.

    Stations:

Yeah, I’d like to land on planets? The game tells me there’s an empire but for all I know it’s just wayward colonists calling themselves as such. I’d like them to work on this as they seem to imply that we can explore once we land. Perhaps even build your own station or whatever can be added, who knows. The game has that potential, it just sucks that what you can visit is just station after station with hardly anything exciting in them.

All in all: pirate the game, wait until it’s ver. 1 or more then see if it’s better than this one.
