the amount of bad games , bad devellopers reach a top noch . More we advance worst are the games devellopers . Since few years we have 5 times more games then before but 5 times less good games . This year 2020 is definately the worst i ever saw in game industry . I truely saw these last 10 months , 6 good games and that is including consoles and pc . Many people are saying for exemple that last of us 2 is a fabulous , but for mùe it is just an ok , like many games it is just a sequel with better gfx and such but nothing special and original in it . And it is the big prob at this time , too much sequel , rebuild , remake wich mean not originality , no surprise , only better gfx and that is far too be enough to make a game good . You count in that all the so crappy amount of games by indie devellopers , the result is that there is really not really much stuff interesting and if there is one most of the time it is dissapointed because of bad gameplay , boring , to easy , too much bugs …. The game industry really need a bunch of new truely good devellopers .
crap
@yahari2222 It’s all thanks to the internet. In the eighties and nineties there were also bad developers, but since nobody bought a second game of them after falling for the first (unless the buyer was dead stupid,) then they didn’t have a long run.
The problem with the internet is, *anyone* can develop a “game” with a bit of learning and minimal effort. There are far too many tools that enable talentless turds to crap out “games” they put on money machines (aka Steam, GoG, Epic Store and so on,) and they get their bits of money from the other side of the problem: inbred imbeciles who will buy whatever gets sold, as long as there’s tits, they can shoot other inbreds, it’s “anime,” or all of those things. Heck, just look at RPGMaker and the number of “games” on Steam developed on that thing, and I don’t think most qualify as games, and those that do are just basically ripping off Final Fantasy 4/5/6 and hoping nobody notices.
They should reopen the ditch where they buried the Atari 2600 E.T. cartridges. Nowadays, they could sell them for 120 dollars a piece to imbeciles on Steam. Just create 0some clunky, large Geordi Laforge visor ripoff to play it, and call it VR. Those who play VR won’t notice the difference.
it looks like the aaa game developers have almost reached their limit. As a result, in the next generation we will expect good games on average for two or three years. This is almost half the lifespan of new platforms. And in between, drown in the depths of the hopeless indie shit. Technology at its finest. give me back my 90s (but no shit atari)
