   First of all, thank you for spreading the word. It’s very likely that there are people that only find out about Holodance because they’re browsing this site and see it. We need exposure, and I’m sincerely grateful for any kind of visibility we get.

   That said: Using a cracked version of Holodance will never give you the experience you have when buying the game on Steam. We work on this game full time and push out releases every one or two weeks. Sometimes a release takes a little longer, sometimes a little less. With each new release, there are bugs fixed and new features added. At the time of this writing, we’re already at 0.6.0 and you can check the News section to see what you’re missing when still playing 0.5.8:

   Using a cracked version will have you run into bugs that don’t exist in the game on Steam anymore, and you’ll be missing features you would already get on Steam. When buying the game here, you don’t have to worry about updating – you get incremental updates each time you open up Steam, so instead of having to download the full 6+ GB each time, you only download what has changed since the last update. It’s easy, it’s comfortable, you always get the best possible experience with the game. And of course, there’s no risk you’ll infect your computer with a Virus (which obviously cannot be guaranteed for cracked / pirated versions).

   Finally, we have currently sold about 1800 units of the game. This may seem like a lot but really, we need to sell more than 10 times as many units to even break even. And quite a bit more to get into a sustainable profit zone. So every single sale counts for us. Simply put: We can only stay in business and continue building games if enough people buy those games.

   So if you like this game, you should definitely buy it right here instead of freeriding on other people’s hard work.
