@Warwitch if you knew just how to use google or have a bit of knowledge you would know that gothic is previous than oblivion or even morrowind, so yeah, maybe check your facts first

You kids dont know a thing. Gothic 1 was greatest RPG of its time and made me fall in love in RPG genre. The moment Gothic 2 was published bought that as well. Im sad i never played anything afterwards.

Is like calling Ultima a “terrible game”… Those who complain were not even in they’re father scrotum when it was launched.
    Thanks for the game!

Not sure when games should go to public domain as mankind legacy but Gothic and its sequel sure deserves to be played by any fantasy role play enthusiast, not just middle aged guys reliving their youth or retro fans streaming it ironically.

Yeah, trying to be like Oblivion..smh…those German bastards… First WWII now this… Like they said this was pre-all that. This is Oblivions german great grand-father. Fought in 2 wars, lost a leg, got 3 purple hearts, or whatever the hell the German equivalent is. Wound Badge, Hitler called it a Wound Badge, anyways… point… 1&2 are considered RPG gods, 3 is pretty hated, but the first one i ever played. Got me into RPG’s. Wasn’t really a fan prior. Got fired and played 3 for a week straight, 12-13 hours a day. Combat is a BITCH, most of the time, unfair. Especially those damn bird things. If they strike, you’re fucked. It’ll just chain kill you. So you gotta strike first. Name your character Sir Saves-Alot and you’ll be fine. ps. Quit bitching about literally every game they put up here. It’s very childish.

Actually Gothic 2 was a promising game with lots of fun.True , it was nothing like Morrowind or Oblivion because their whole dev team was sth like 20 to 28 people.

2001 was the year of MGS2, Unreal Tournament, Halo(yes halo one!),
