   No, its a remake of Half Life 1 in HD. New models, sounds, animations, in HD. Its better graphics than Half life 2 so thats why its so big.

    The videos this site chooses to show off the games it uploads amuse me. If the video chosen shows the correct game to begin with (Dead Alliance, anyone?) they often pick videos that show the game in it’s worst possible light. Take the video chosen to show Black Mesa, for example. Watch it for a while, and you’ll start to see the uploader plagued with issues which they try to fix by lowering graphics settings until they have the settings running so low that it could run on an abacus. And the game STILL barely runs.

    Just…pick better gameplay demonstration videos. That’s all I’m saying.

    It is updated you dingus. March 2020 is the date when the original version left Early Access. This Definitive Edition is new, take a look at @Sasha comment to see what’s changed from the March release.

    i noticed a significant performance improvement on this version compared to the last version. The problem i experience is it can’t load xen and gonarch chapters even if i type in console. Yet i can play interlooper and nihilant. I received this error on console: material”,models/props_xen/xen_plug_plasma_layer2
    “:proxy “texture transform” unable to initialize. can you please help? thank you

    My bad, it seems it is a problem in the official game itself. I was able to fix it now, it seems potato video settings are causing the xen and gonarch maps not to load and crash. So make sure not to have any of your video settings set on potato. This way you can play those maps. Hope this helps.

    It can be played with the controller, I’ve Xbox One S controller, but there is no way to adjust the controller sensitivity, making it way too sensitive and a stupid idea to play with a gamepad. Just use a mouse, it’s way better. But if you really insist on making the game play like shit you can try playing the game by adding the starting .exe to Steam and running it through Steam’s “Big Picture” mode, which supports using a gamepad – that’s something you will need to look up yourself.
