Just a note to others, this game uses GoldBerg so in order to play this game with other’s using lan or some vlan service you need to make a file in bin/steam_settings/force_steamid.txt and put in a steam id you know no one is using (for example your own steam ID). Now you should be able to play with other’s on servers which have steam networking disabled

If the game doesn’t launch due to the shader error, first install Steam, then go to the bottom left and add a non-Steam game. Once done, go to the game’s properties/shortcut and in the “start in” section, delete everything written after Avorion.v2.5.2. It should look something like this: C:\xxxxx\xxxxx\xxxxx\Avorion.v2.5.2
